You will begin a guided tour through the streets and alleys of Venice, immersing yourself in this most popular and chaotic shopping maze which almost immediately opens onto the quiet and charming atmosphere of the smaller streets where the water from the canals reflects the light of the sky and the colours of the gondolas. The multicultural and glorious past of Venice will no longer be a mystery to you. Via a guided tour through the streets and canals of the historic town centre between St Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge, you can capture the full charm of Venice, a city which arose on a lagoon and was built and connected to it by small bridges, where gondolas and the sound of water only increase the multifaceted city's allure. Deep within St Mark's district, in the nerve centre of the city, you can admire the great Teatro La Fenice which has been destroyed and rebuilt over the years. It was the location of important opera seasons and where opera premieres by Rossini and Verdi debuted. The name of the theatre comes precisely from its troubled history, as following numerous misadventures it has always found the strength to be reborn from its ashes just like the mythological bird it is named after: The Phoenix. During this visit you will have the opportunity to admire the Scala Contarini del Bovolo, a famous late-Gothic style fourteenth century palace overlooking Rio San Luca. This monument is a round tower with a spiral staircase ('' bovolo'' in Venetian dialect), and is the largest that has ever been built with these characteristics. This element ensured the spreading of the Contarini family name. The tower is embellished with frescoes and its highest point provides an extensive view of the city.
